Painting techniques of acrylic painting
Acrylic paints are water dilutable and dry to a waterproof film. They can be used to oil paint as an alternative or supplement. The advantage of the pure acrylic colors is very short drying time. Diluted with water, the acrylic paint is translucent, similar as in the watercolor painting. Acrylic paint can be used on any grease free surface, on canvas, wood, metal and others. Concomitant use of oil paints, the acrylic paint will be applied as a background. For lighting effects in acrylic painting texture gel or paste the structure will work, where it is applied to the primed painting surface and then colored.
